As I was sorting through my gear, I realized that I had a finished roll of film in my camera, ready to be developed. I had shot this roll back in Lemoore, before heading to Pensacola and it includes shots around the old house, my old work, and at my buddy Mike Olbinski’s house en route to Florida.
I used the same coffee mixture as last time (Caffenol C-L), but made a couple slight adjustments. Instead of full stand development, I did a semi-stand technique where I agitated the tank gently at the 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 minute mark of the 60 minute total developing time. I found that the negatives came out a little more contrasty and the shadows didn’t seem to develop as much as I would have liked… Of course, this is also a new film so who knows if that is the reason. I am pretty confident that I exposed properly, but the meter on my XG-M could be a little off after 30 years…
